Formulation

The active substance of Azithromycin monohydrate (Zenith^®) 200 mg / 5 mL powder for oral suspension is Azithromycin monohydrate equivalent to 200 mg azithromycin per 5 mL.

Indication

Azithromycin monohydrate (Zenith®) can be applied in situations where micro-organisms sensitive to azithromycin have caused:

• upper respiratory tract infections: sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, (see special warnings and special precautions for use*)
• acute otitis media
• lower respiratory tract infections: acute bronchitis and mild to moderately severe community acquired pneumonia
• skin and soft tissue infections
• uncomplicated Chlamydia trachomatis urethritis and cervicitis (see section on warnings and special precautions for use*)

* Considerations should be given to official guidance on the appropriate use of antibacterial agents.
