How to know if your child is experiencing colds

Stuffy Nose

Also known as nasal congestion, it is the inflammation of blood vessels and tissues inside the nose. Stuffy nose may also result in excess mucus drainage and impaired sense of smell leading to loss of appetite.

Sneezing

An abrupt involuntary blowing of air from the nose and mouth because of nostril irritation that can be bothersome.

Runny Nose

It is the excessive nasal discharge of thin clear fluid that may run out of the nose or back down in the throat. This may lead to sore throat in children.

Mild Fever

Slightly elevated body temperature ranging between 37.5ºC and 38.3ºC which can last for more than 24 hours. Headache and body pains may accompany fever, causing sluggishness and lethargy.

How to relieve your child's colds symptoms?

Serve hot soup with chicken or meat and vegetables to keep your child nourished, and a hot soup always helps alleviate the cold symptoms.

To ease nasal congestion, try saline nasal sprays.

Give your child plenty of fluids like water or natural fruit juices such as warm calamansi juice or dalandan juice.

Let your child get plenty of rest to allow your child's body to fight off the cold virus.

What is the medicine used for?

These medicines are used for the relief of clogged nose, runny nose, postnasal drip, itchy and watery eyes, sneezing, headache, body aches, and fever associated with the common cold, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, flu, and other minor respiratory tract infections. They also help decongest sinus openings and passages.

What is in the medicine?

These medicines contain Phenylephrine HCl, Chlorphenamine Maleate and Paracetamol. Phenylephrine HCl, a nasal decongestant, clears obstructed air passages and nasal sinuses due to congestion, making breathing easier. It also reduces postnasal drip.

Chlorphenamine Maleate, an anti-allergy, relieves symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, and itchy, watery eyes.

Paracetamol is an effective fever reducer and pain reliever.

How much and how often should you use this medicine?

These medicines should be taken orally (by mouth). Or, as recommended by a doctor

Children 6 to 12 months		1.25 mL to 1.5 mL
Children 3 to 6 months		1 mL to 1.25 mL
Children 1 to 3 months		0.75 mL to 1 mL
